Hello friends! We’re officially over a month into this journey, and 3 weeks into ministry in Cambodia! Wow, so much has taken place over the past 2 weeks! Our team had our one month “anniversary” of living/doing life together, we visited the Angkor Wat temples, I got attacked by a wild monkey (all is well, he only stole my wipes👍🏻), got to witness 8 people receive salvation, and 7 women publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism in the rice fields (one of them being a girl from our team!)
As the days have now turned into weeks, many of us have gotten an opportunity to develop personal relationships with the people here in Cambodia. Earlier this week I watched as one of the girls on our team nurtured a bond she had created with a boy in the village. She continuously made conversation with Peter despite the language barrier, and through that dedicated pursuit he asked her a question. “What is your dream.” She paused, and told him she wasn’t quite sure what that dreamed looked like. She said wanted whatever the Lord has planned for her, even though she didn’t quite know what that is yet. He smiled and then told her that one day he wanted to become a pastor.
Through that sweet interaction, I got a clear picture of what the Lord wants from us. An intimate and personal relationship with him. He desires to come and know us, and for us to do the same with him. Despite the sin that creates a barrier between us and the Lord, he still chooses to chase after us.
“but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.”
Psalms 139:12
Prayer requests: We are traveling to Thailand in less than 2 weeks, so pray for safe and smooth travels. Sweet goodbyes to our Cambodian family in Christ, and a smooth transition into the new ministry we will be sent to in Thailand!
